My sun conure is 11 months old and I just brought him home Friday it wasn't until I did some more research that I found out that I was suppose to let him be the first few days. I have probably been trying to interact with him too much, but now that I know what to do the next few days I will keep my distance to let him become comfortable. I do sense he is somewhat agitated, I took him into the bathroom with me earlier to let him see himself in the mirror and wanted to check for mites or lice on him and he go aggressive with me, so I took him back to his cage, and after the fact I went back to his cage a little while after and put my hand near him to pet him and spoke softly he growled and hissed at me, and then retreated to the corner so I backed off and have given him the space he needs. I have heard sun conures are affectionate, but I don't think Pete is ready for that. I have been covering his cage at night to provide comfort but don't know if I should be. Do you think he will stay distant with me. I am for sure going to make sure my home is peaceful and quiet the next few days, to try not to continue to overwhelm him. I am worried I have given him too much stimulation these first few days in my home. What is your opinion please?
