Need your help!!!

It's great to hear that Archie is feeling better!
How are his feet and balance? Have they improved at all or is he still struggling to hold onto the perch?

He still struggles but they're definitely not as painful. He's sleeping better too so I presume he used to wake up due to the pain. He found a new lease of life and is becoming the cheeky boy he should be [emoji3]❤️

One of my amazons, Sydney, has bad feet. I made him a flat perch and covered it with canvas to give him a better grip. It's been in there almost a year and it figures now, after a year of having it, and chewing at it, that he realized he can stand on it (even though it's a little broken!)

You can make some little ones for Archie, and I know my conures always liked corner perches as well. I don't know if he'd like a happy hut or something where he can kind of lay down, but that might be worth a shot too.

We've moved his normal perch right down to the bottom of the cage and I've made fleece liners for the bottom so he can walk on them. Will have to have a go with a flat perch [emoji3]

I can hardly believe it... I'm brand new here and I run across this thread!
Thank you for caring about this bird! My Patagonian is 30 this year. I don't see many as pets, maybe because they are SO loud and destructive and demanding... too often I have seen them wind up abandoned or abused. But not Archie! WOW!

Would love to see some pics of your Patagonian [emoji3] We just love him to bits ❤️ Luckily we love his noise [emoji122][emoji122]

@Nicky76 - so pleased that Archie has found you for his Mom and thank you for taking good care of him.

I have a Lesser come stay over for his holidays, he is so very different from my 'too but I love him to bits. He is very good for me and will come over to try to say 'kiss, kiss' to me and shouts 'awight' at me until he is convinced that I am OK. I had him for five days this time and he's due for several weeks later in the year and I am finding that I miss him now he's back home and very much looking forward to his coming back soon. His mum always says he is so well behaved after he has stayed with me and doesnt shout/screech so much. I think it is because I give him a routine and he likes me being around a lot. So wishing you and Archie a very happy life together.

And the old guy who didn't know how to play is making up for lost time!!

Nicky... I sent you a FriendRequest...
I just feel really connected to your Archiebird's journey. He and Rickeybird are related, ya know!

I only use the forum on Tapatalk and can't find a request on there [emoji17]
You can always PM me [emoji122][emoji3]

Hey Nicky. I'm so glad you found Archie. Some people can be horrible.

My little girl has metabolic bone disease, which is like arthritis. I only found out two months ago. I have to do the same thing, give her pain killers every night. Honestly the easiest way is with a towel. That is how I started. Now I don't need the towel. I hold her with my hands and get it done within 5 seconds. They get used to it eventually.

Nicky, ah, okayyyyyy...
Nicky and Jess... you are both so wonderful to accept your birds as they are and step up to provide what they need!!! That's real love.

Archies story is so heart-warming. I am so glad he found you guys or who knows where he would have ended up.

Poor guy....the old geezer had to wait 20 years to finally feel what it is to be loved. But it better late then never I suppose.

Kudos on you for taking such good care of him. It really warms my heart to read stories such as this.

Yay for Archie!!

Nicky (and Archie)...
Here are a couple of FAILS of me trying to show how funny the Rickeybird is when losing his mind over a green chile. Usually it's a real show, but not when I tried to cam it, naturally!

FAIL 1

FAIL 2

He is a beautiful boy ❤️
Archie isn't interested in chillies!

Too bad his big brother can't take him under his wing! Not that either of them thinks he's a bird.

Of course not, they're 100% human [emoji6]
But he's only just discovered vegetables so he's got a bit of catching up to do [emoji4]
