needs advice just bought a sun conure

I just bought a sun conure and have had her for about a week now. She comes out of her cage on her own and everything but she bites almost every time she gets the chance. So my question would be how do I get her to trust me and not bite? Also how soon should I start training her and how? I need some advice plz help.

I'll start by suggesting you read all the replies in this thread. Go slowly...your SC is in a new home, new people, new everything and is scared. Right now she probably doesn't trust you; which isn't gained overnight -a week in bird land is a very minute length of time. It can take weeks or months to gain their trust. Sit by her cage daily, and often, talk to her quietly and offer treats. Move slowly and don't expect too much too soon. You also need to learn to read her body language and predict the bites and avoid them before they happen- watch for eye pinning/flashing, tail fanning, and head feather flaring...those are the obvious ones.
