I can't believe this. I have the WORST schedule and locker EVER!

Ok get this.

Socials - block 1
Science - block 2
LC - block 3
Wood Shop - block 4
Math - block 5
P.E. - block 6
English - block 7
Planning - Block 8

Do you know what that means, i have PE first thing on Tuesday! i cant do PE in the morning. I'm like half asleep at 8:30. how am i supposed to run like 20 laps when i'm half asleep!

Ok then they decided to be annoying turds they are give me a tiny half locker at the BOTTOM. I'll get back problems..... people aren't supposed to get back problems when there like 15, there supposed to get it when there like 70.

If that's as bad as it gets, you got off lightly.

You said it, Red.

Meghan-
That sucks about PE and your locker. When I was in hs and had gym (which I LOVED!), I didn't have it until 6th hour which was my last class of the day. So it wasn't as bad as you have it. Just wait a few years and you'll be wishing that your biggest concerns were PE in the AM and a low locker. Hahaha...and I'm not even a *real* adult yet, but I think after hs it only gets worse!

ya but school has changed since then. Plus Canada is different, higher expectations than the USA and AUS.

Let me tell you ... I would, in a heartbeat, go back to High School ... I would trade everything I have now to go back ... no money worries, no cares in the world, no pressure other than classwork ... seeing my friends everyday ... HELL'S YEAH, IN A HEARTBEAT!!

Besides I played hockey and won the first state championship ever in the school's history ... we got away with a lot that year ... :16: ... those were great days!

I love school, I want to go back so bad. I remember my university intructors saying if you think I'm bad wait until you get a boss. It is a whole lot worse. I can't wait to go back to school.

mmmmm Tis a mixed bag as I remember.
Working from 9 till 3 would be good.
Being bullied I could live without.
The whole "school as a popularity contest" concept I could live without as well.
But school is just a taste of the crap that awaits you out in the real world.
Learn to roll with the punches, It will take less of the wind out of your sails later.

Oh and avoid all debt for as long as you can. Life with no bills is heavenly, and it wont last long. Living without fancy stuff is better than worrying how you can pay for it all. As soon as they get you owing money for anything, its a downhill slide from there.

Owing money.. I have to pay BACK the stuff I bought with a credit card when I was a teenager?? What the heck, I thought it was just a learning experience!
I owe soooo much money... do not take more student loans than you need... do not buy all the newest gadgets that you don't need..

Flyte when you get done slapping yourself around you can you come over here and slap me around for the same reason ...

And Tex I'll be right behind you in line.

Oh the care-free days of highschool ::sigh::

NOOO but i like my cell phone and ipod! well actually i did have an ipod but mt dad sold it on ebay and got me some crappy mp3 player... but i guess it still plays music. I've gone through 4 cellphones in less than 3 years i honestly don't know what i would do if i didn't have one.

We didn't have cell phones when I was in highschool, and we did just fine ... you would survive ...

I am surprised that you are even allowed to have cell phones in school ... I know that in MY classroom I wouldn't allow them at all ...

My old hs still doesn't allow cell phones, mp3 players, computers...any electrical gadgets are a definite no.

We're not supposed to have them but everyone does anyway. In classes, sometimes if we're just doing work then some teachers allow you to listen to music, but if they're talking you have to take your head phones out.

We're not supposed to use cellphones on school property, we're not even aloud to text message. Everyone still does it though, specially text messaging.

Plus if your cellphone does go off in the classroom... i usually keep mine on vibrate, but sometimes i forget but anyway if it does just let it go... they'll think its someone else. Unless of course it keeps going then they'll like direct themselves according to where the sound is coming from.

In reality though most teachers aren't too smart when it comes to gadgets today.

I find it amazing we keep falling into the trap of creating new bills for ourselves.
In 1981 I didn't have a mobile phone bill, an Internet bill, a pay tv bill, and yet I just happily pay them each and every month. Why is it that everything we deem to be "staple" needs to be paid for every month?

Anyone remember when it was just gas, electricity and phone bills?

No offense Meghan..
My children will not be using cell phones and mp3 players all the time, especially not at school. I will train them to use normal listening devices instead. Like the ears. . to the teacher..
I hated school too and it was very difficult for me because of anxiety issues but I made it through and I now know how important it is. I'd rather the twinkle in my boyfriend's eye sit there half falling asleep like I did and maybe absorb 0.00018% of the information than listen to music or be on the phone and retain none of it.
God.. if I found out the teacher was letting my kids listen to music players in class I would be down there just roaring for a fight. Isn't there something better they could be doing? That's some teacher.. You can incorporate music by bringing in a player for everyone to listen to together, that way you still have people paying attention to one source which is something many kids don't learn how to do nowadays.
I have the original ipod.. you know the one, it weighs like 1/2 pound. I got it when I went to college. I've got a cell phone and a whole bunch of useless gadgets too. I brought them with me to college. I did not use them in class even though nearly everyone else did. I only brought one bad thing to school with me once and that was my rat who fell asleep in my bag.
I guess because I went there when I was a little older than most of my classmates I understood that I was PAYING to be there and it would be incredibly stupid of me not to pay attention.
And now for the gratuitous off-topic comment:
I actually saw one kid sitting behind me throwing spitballs in my psychology class. I got up, walked to his chair said really loudly, something along the lines of, "Are you actually shooting spitballs at me? If you can't think of anything better to do in class then leave, my daddy isn't paying for my schooling and I really can't afford to be bothered by some stupid little kindergarten *poopyhead" *edited for language, :D
My teacher laughed and said he couldn't have done a better job, I sat back down and we went back to work. From then on anytime I even looked in that guys direction, he looked away! I guess I got over my high school shyness.. lol
Anyway, if I would have brought a cell phone to my English high school class my teacher would have, quite literally, killed me.
