Hi guys. Some of you probably remember me, some of you probably don't, and others of you are newer to the forum than my absence, so shrug. And beyond that, so much has changed since I was last active on here, including myself, that I figured I should introduce myself again.
Idk, I thought about making a new account so much has changed, but that doesn't seem right either. Shrug.
I still am in rural Kentucky, but now I'm here alone. Mid divorce. Ex and I are on friendly terms and he still helps me out with stuff that involves driving(I don't drive or have a vehicle). I live alone in the forest and am a hermit at this point lol. Life took a pretty hard detour. Ex and I weren't on friendly terms at first when we separated, so things were very hard for a year or so after I kicked him out. Things were not as good as I acted like they were. Part shame, part denial, idk. But I'm very proud of how much work I have done on myself since then. I've dived deep into my past(not pretty) and done a lot of healing of past traumas. I have done a lot of healing and I'm in a much better place now, but it's a journey for all of us isn't it. Not a destination.
So much is different it almost doesn't seem right to try and update everything.
I still have the farm, I have a lot of livestock. I still have some of the parrots but sadly not all. Freedom the macaw is still with me, I had to rehome Pidge the cockatoo when ex left the household(Pidge was very much a man's bird. I kept him for a few years after the split, but eventually found him a wonderful home with a gay couple who seem to adore him, they send updates), Hima the special needs budgie is still with me(thank God. She's my adopted daughter, no exaggerating), Mr. Senior Alexbird is going strong and pair bonded with Sarah, so they live together now in my cabin with me. Rinbird is still here too. Boomer passed away, and I've still got 9 budgies.
There's been many ups and downs. But I'm still here and finally have things in enough of a functional setup to start working towards my goals again. It feels good.
Anyway, I still have no internet, just cell fone data, so I'll wrap this up. Obviously, some of what I've been thru is sensitive and I don't want to go into details, but if there are specific questions about critters or whatever I will try and answer.
Ex didn't take any birds he doesn't live somewhere he can have them, but he did take some dogs when he left.
