This Month's Theme:

Show Us That BODY! (Language)

A little known thing, the first Friday of October is

National Body Language Day. Yes, something parrot people know all too well,
that means of communication without spoken words. A posture, facial expression,
or simply turning away and ignoring. Whatever it is, it's clear and unmistakable.

Show us your parrots doing anything that makes their point. Fluffy head, side eye,
whatever ways they tell you something.

You WILL love me, Dad. Right now! (yes, I'm protecting my lips. Tucker can be kinda demanding and grabby)

Scritches, please? (Pay no attention to the lack of shave!)

The contest will run from now until the morning of October 29th (Eastern USA time) at which time there will be a three day polling period. Winner will be announced the morning of November 1st. The winner will receive a free, one year Supporting Membership to Parrot Forums, a nice little "Parrot of the Month" banner on your profile, and the winning entry will be displayed on the forum homepage for the following month. The winning photo will also be automatically entered into our Photo of the Year Contest for next year!!!

Only one "Official Entry" per person, however, you may submit as many "Just for Fun" entries as you like! Videos and photoshopped images will be allowed, but not required.
Please don't forget to tell us your bird's name in your post. :)

Good luck everyone!

Oh @saxguy64, you've knocked it outta the park with this theme!! I love it, and the entries this month are gonna be awesome!!

I can’t take a picture of it, but Ava kind of snorts or scoffs at us, blowing air out of her nares, when she’s slightly annoyed by us. It’s kind of hilarious. Any other birds do this? 😆

Some birdy body language is very subtle, others not so much. And Peachie is one little hen who knows how to use her body language alright!!

Peachie is SHAMELESS, isn't she! It's really kinda sweet. Does Lovejoy ever get the hint and jump on?

My budgie Joey does to any male budgie she sees and to ME!

@DonnaBudgie, to put not too fine a point on it, it was a two week shagfest between that pair, and my whole neighbourhood would have heard them! Thankfully they've both gone off the boil over the last few days, and with no eggs produced thank goodness!!

I hope they enjoyed themselves! This past summer some of my budgies (Rocky and Beau; two female sisters Bennington and Sally; Baja and Tiki and any interested or disinterested females; and Joey and any males she can seduce) were very active in this regard and I must have tossed out 25 infertile eggs from various females since April. Fortunately it seems to have cooled off for now. Beau and Rocky are a bonded pair, do everything together, and he still frequently feeds her but at least it's not like it was several months ago when those two actually tried to do the Humpty Dance on my husband's HEAD!

I have a couple that would be perfect for you if you lived on the east coast! I say this and I know you would be perfect for them but I'd miss Tiki and Baja, my friendly blue boys. I raised Tiki and got Baja, his cousin or older brother, at only 7 weeks old.

"Take a picture! I'm a pretty boy." pose
official entry - Otto does this when we're outside. He says, "You ready? Take a picture, pretty!"

Otto is sooooo pretty, and he knows it! I don't think I could resist taking his picture, especially when he asks (demands?) so nicely :)
