Caption says its a melanistic mutation and how gorgeous. I am in love with that tail. I wonder what the underwings would look like.

Reverse google searched the image and was able to find the breeder it came from, unfortunately it's in a different language otherwise I think I might contact them for more pictures and such. I was able to find a couple though.

I LOVE eclectus mutations. Pied? sigh me up? Blue? Heck yeah! Whatever else there may be?? Yes. If I ever win the lottery you best know I am gonna invest most of that money into a giant aviary and what not for several eclectus parrots x'D probably none of the fancy mutations though as the ones from rescues need help more.

I'm in love with the female blue mutation.

Eh. Looks like it’s covered in ash. I’d much rather take a regular color or blue mutation.

Yes yes yes about the lottery!! I would be doing the same, have a big aviary and have a purely mution flock of eclectus, amazon, macaw...would be so cool!!

But, but , what about all the parrots it took to get these? These colors just dont happen. Do they?

Debatable. If it is melanism that's just a mutation that can exist in really any animal. Same thing as albinism. So it can just randomly occur in any situation and not entirely specifically bred for, in this case I don't believe it was intentionally bred for. I mean, there are genetics for melanism / albinism but in a lot of cases it's just not entirely intentional.

Had no idea such mutations are possible! The turquoise is breathtaking!

oh my god that female blue!

I need one!

Looks like a photoshop job to me.

Nope, they aren't. JC Aviary is in Texas and Mountain Ridge Aviary in Virginia sells them. They do exist! Google 'mutation eclectus' and you'll see lots..

Wow! I've never seen a dark one like that before!!! Gorgeous

Anyone got $27k laying around?

Shall I start a for gofundme? xD

I think you should take names first, so you can figure out how much you need the gofundme to be for. You can add me to the list.
