having ISP issues and not working right now. Learned a new thing about the Zon's. Wife is laying on the bed with the Zon's and I went and laid down next to her, Zon's went TOTAL offense.....major eye pinning, flaring feathers and extremely aggressive.... I'm only bleeding in about 3 places on my fingers but it was an interesting "experiment" in their behaviour. This is the worst they've ever been with me but it was interesting to really note their signals in such detail which is why I proceeded.... Call me a glutton for punishment but it was worth observing. Funny how their aggression basically doubled since she was laying down as opposed to standing. I still ain't giving up on those 2 :p :D

LOL, zons are funny.
Hubby can sit beside, hold my hand, he's can also give me a hug or kiss while standing without problem. On the couch he can't cuddle into me without Bosley posturing and he cannot sit on the bed under any circumstances. That turns into full attack mode.

They are protective then. I know a blue & gold macaw that's doing the same thing, It protect it's owner to death, I recall it flight and attacked someone that was around it's owner. They are better than a rottweiler aren't they? xD

I realize that i'm getting myself into trouble. Parrots are like women. there i said it. it's true though. Basically , they want what they can't have. (like most of us). playing hard to get works. So does being strong and confident. just my .02 worth,, don't be too available.

thank you for throwing yourself to the wolves Hen :54::11:
I agree completely, but it was interesting that it was due to her laying down as opposed to sitting up. Like I said, it was very enlightening, I don't care I got bit, it was the manner of watching their body language that had me so enthralled. I didn't look at it as being upset, more of an education process for me :)

Look at situation through your Zon's eyes

HE THINKS YOU ARE TRYING TO STEAL HIS GIRL !!!!! LoL

Hmm....all of this would be 100% dead on, had you started off with:

" Parrots are like MEN...."

Scott, did the Amazons growl before they lunged? Sam does this deep gurgling growl, pins his eyes, and then BAM he goes for his victim. :54:

it was the classic signs of aggression, feathers flared, eyes REALLY pinning and with the growl
