Oskie has his black ring!

Such a proud mama - have been waiting patiently during his first molt to see if his black feathers would come through. After a few weeks of bald patches he finally has little black spots around his neck! My little boy is all grown up! *sheds tear*

Question: Once it's started, does the whole ring come through in one molt? Or might it look patchy for a while until he molts again?

I have ring envy! My Barney is still only just a year old - it's gonna be a while till he gets his lovely ring. Don't shed a tear - rejoice in the stunningness of your gorgeous green birdie! Alexes are the sexiest birds alive!

It might all come in now, it might be patchy, it might not be. It won't be as dark as it will be in another moult or 2 though

I'll post a pic as soon as it's prominent enough to show up on a picture! Actually i'm angry at him right now, was looking through this forum and my computer made a noise to say i'd unplugged a USB device. Had I? Nope....Just Oskie chewing his way through the entire mouse cable. Grr.
