Hello, Moses started to like the Topps green pellets.
My question is about parrot bread.
What is your opinion.
Moses gets all he needs from fresh veggies, fruits, and Topps pellets.
I have seen posts about making bread for eclectus parrots.
Any advice.
I think the bread is more of a treat or extra. I do not think they really need it maybe?
Moses does like the Topps green pellets now but there is alot of powdery residue left after he eats the topps, so i was thinking of making bread out of the leftover powder.Appreciate any help , advice , and or recipes:)
Thank you and God Bless

the bread is a good option to repurposed the dust. if you're comfortable feeding him the pellets, the bread will be no different since it's made from the pellets. the only difference is you're adding a fruit/veggie puree. I recommend pumpkin puree! or apple sauce.

oh I guess it also includes an egg, which is okay.

Recipe Directions for 1 Batch of Birdie Bread (Each Bag Makes 2 Batches):

Ingredient List for one (1) Batch:

2 cups of TOP’s Birdie Bread Mix (about half a bag)

1 teaspoon aluminum-free baking powder

1 large egg, beaten

1.25 cups applesauce or other fruit puree

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C)

Step 2: In medium mixing bowl, combine two (2) cups of TOP’s Premium Birdie Bread Mix and 1 teaspoon aluminum-free baking powder

Step 3: In a separate, large mixing bowl, combine 1 large, beaten egg and applesauce ( or other fruit puree)

Step 4: Add dry ingredients from Step 2 into the wet ingredients in Step 3 and stir until you have a smooth dough batter

Step 5: Pour dough batter into a medium pan or standard muffin pan, or form 2-inch cookie rounds on a greased cookie sheet*

Step 6: Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 15 minutes, or until firm

* Do not use nonstick PTFE-coated cookware
