parrot trying to vomit after every meal

Senegal parrot trying to vomit after everything he eats. We went to the vet yesterday, he did some checks, took some pictures and he saw there was a fluid in his belly. He took the fluid out of his belly and it was blood.



He thinks it might be a tear in his liver and maybe even a tumor. He has to take vitamin K now 3 times a day.


But he is still struggling a lot. He just tries to vomit for like 10-20 minutes after every meal and tries to sleep all day. He just puked out a bit of phlegm after he ate a small piece of a banana.


Edit: just dropped him off at my vets place and he has to stay there for a few nights. All i can do is pray i guess.


Ill call the vet in a bit to see what he has to say. Is there anyone else who has seen something like this on parrots?

Sorry to hear about the trouble, it sounds as though the Vet is on it and doing everything that can be done, I love Senegal's, my better half has had 2 over the years, I miss them very much

I HOPE you took your baby to a CERTIFIED AVIAN VET (CAV) and not just a vet that looks at exotic pets. Birds are so much different than other critters.

Did they check for heavy metal toxicity?

Sorry to hear about your poor sick bird. It's such a terrible feeling to see your parrot puking. Jacob has gotten sick a few times due to his bird asthma and seeing him puke is the worst feeling in the world. Hope your senegal gets better.
