Parrots, Zinc, and Powder Coating

What brand did you purchase?
Looking to start replacing cages here.
Prevue stainless steel cage

It was the cheaper option and I really enjoy the way the doors open for food and the main door

I heavily suggest whenever getting a cage to build especially SS

Have a bowl of soapy water (I use dawn) and clean each piece. They are always a lil dusty and some dark dusty stuff on it. I spent a lot of time cleaning it before assembling it (assembling it wrong and redoing it)

But now it's a very clean cage.

I always also run the bowls thru dish to be safe

I was under the impression that powder coating was similar to auto paint- baked on and just about impossible for a parrot to remove. I know that some people sell cages saying they're powder coated but they aren't. The Goffin's cockatoo I had many years ago ran her beak up and down the bars of her first cage removing the white so-called powder coating. I immediately replaced that cage with one that was truly powder coated and Casper was never able to chip any of it off, and she had a very strong beak. I don't think a parrot can chip the powder coating on a cage if its been done properly.
