Does everyone throw out the uneaten pellets after 24 hours and replenish from fresh supply? In a temperature/humidity controlled space, it seems unnecessarily expensive to feed a bird this way. Is this the SOP for pellet feeding??

I agree 1000% about cost!!! I know my CAG eating habits. I also have an estimate of her amounts. She nibbles pellets during the day. So small amount. She eats like a pig before lights out. Since young she also nibbles after lights out. I put out more. Most mornings there's little left so little waste. The only time I put out more is if I am going to be gone most of day. Each bird has their own eating preference.

Yvons likes to choose his. A bowl filled to the brim lasts him three to four days. It stays relatively good. If it's REALLY humid outside, I tend to put them in the freezer for a while, but we're usually not that bad up here in Manitoba. Your little fid might take a few days to empty a bowl. It really depends on the bird, as Osklvste said
