Pic of Tango and a Question~

Hi guys!

First, a picture of my sweet new baby, a Green Cheek Conure named Tango.

I got him just a couple days ago on Monday morning from Petco. He has a very small bump on his right wing but he won't let me look at it. (I didn't notice it at the store, or I would've asked them.) He doesn't act like he's in pain, but it worries me all the same. The question: Should I take him to the vet to make sure it's nothing serious?

Any replies or info will be much appreciated.

Is it his wing bone? Is there the same bump on the opposite wing?

It's hard to tell with birds, but I'd probably take him back to the store. Hopefully they will examine him for free, but if not an avian vet is your next option.

Oh wow, durrr... I feel like a genius now (note sarcasm, haha)... It should have been a clue that I'd thought it was the left wing earlier but felt like the right one this time when I checked. They are his wing bones, I just felt them both at the same time when I read your post. Perfectly identical.

I'm having a good laugh at myself now~

You really need to find a avian vet & take your bird. Its always a good idea to get a well check for your bird & establish a relationship w/your vet. In the event of an emergency you will have someone to call for help. Don't wait until an emergency to start looking for a vet.

Yes....if nothing else it's good to know the location of an emergency vet....
