Pigeon with a broken wing...?

Okay, so there is this ad on Kijiji with this girl who found a pigeon with a broken wing and does not want it to be put down, wtc. I am tempted to e-mail the lady, but I am wondering wha all this might entale? I am guesing many trips to the vet and such, but I am curious about what you guys think...?

Well, Pigeons are very hearty birds and can live perfectly well with a broken wing, but only in captivity. I took care of a mourning dove with the same condition. I put it in a small cage for a couple of months so It couldnt beat itself up any worse.

As far as vet care for a broken wing all they can do is put a splint on it and wrap the wing tightly to the body. There isnt a whole lot they can do with broken bones.

Phili is right. They can live very well with broken wings. Other birds not so much. But the best thing to do is make sure it is in a cage that it can't hurt itself in.
