So Pilot seems to be doing a bit better, I reorganized her cage last week when I cleaned it (I clean her cage every week) and I've found her sitting on various perches instead of just sitting on her bridge, and she seems relatively happy. My grandma also bought a tiny Christmas tree for my dresser so "Pilot can experience Christmas, and that's set up now. And instead of just going straight into her cage when she was bored today, she actually sat on my shoulder for a bit while I was cleaning, and also was glaring at me from my dresser, since I moved her cage onto the floor to clean it better. At some point something did spook her, I'm not quite sure what it was and she flew over to land on top of my laundry hamper and she fell in and her nail on her left leg got caught, and I picked her up and she was biting me until I got the rag off of her leg and then flew onto the dumb Christmas tree my grandma bought, but I was wondering if there was a way for me to trim her nails??
Also heres a few photos I got of her this morning and one from the other day:

Aww that’s so sweet that Pilot gets her own Christmas tree! I hang a teeny tiny stocking on my budgies’ cage ( my Quaker parrot would be furious if I hung anything on his cage, lol!).

As for the nail trimming, I use this perch. I have two for each of my birds’ cages and they all actually like them. Smooth on top, rough only on the sides so it doesn’t hurt the bottoms of their little feet.

I'm saving this, so that I can come back to it later when I have more money, and also I don't know if this is normal but I noticed last night that the bottom of one of her feet is kinda red in the middle, and it was kinda concerning me because I didn't know if it was normal or not, or if I should put something on it?

My grandma is planning on getting pilot a stalking to hang in the living room, I have no idea what shes gonna put in it, but that's her problem not mine. I suggested millet or something. And then we plan to take Pilot's cage into the living room on Christmas morning so she isn't left out or something. Shes an amazing bird and I love her, shes also got a lot of personality, and I love that about her.

I use these too. My birds each have a stocking next to ours on the mantle. Button will get a big chunk of millet in his, twisted up in brown paper. Ava will get a full almond, also twisted up in brown paper, so they can forage for their Christmas treats. 😊

Is it possible to get a picture of the bottom of Pilot’s foot? What kind of perches does she have in her cage?

aww she was so little
Rocky was only 4 weeks old, still handfeeding and hadn't learned to fly yet, and now she's 3 years old. She was the first baby we raised and to this day Rocky is the Queen of the Flock.

You've done such a great job with Pilot. I love the picture you entered in this month's POTM contest with Pilot on your shoulder next to your face cocking her head at the camera.

she has wood perches, I got pictures of her perches, but unfortunately she wouldn't stay still long enough for me to get a picture of her foot, she kept kicking me.

She was basically a hatchling then right? And I feel like she would be the kind of bird that would boss the rest of the flock around.

I'm glad that you think I'm doing well with Pilot, I tend to ask a lot of questions especially if something worries me, or I just have a question, because I know that the community here actually will answer my questions.

Pilot really did change my life, and she is definitely a challenge at times, and trust me, she keeps me busy. Although she still has a huge fear of hands she will sometimes sit on my chest and watch me play my game or watch my show with me. She seems to like my company despite her fear, she likes to sit in my hoodie, and sometimes when I'm cleaning she will come over and climb up my leg to get to my shoulder? Even though at this point her flight feathers have grown back, and she knows that because she flies around my room. When she does climb up my leg tho I keep my hand nearby in case she falls. She preens me all the time especially the back of my head where my head is shaved, she seems to like that the most, she also plays with my earrings sometimes. She seems to like to do things with me and to feel included, she has sat on my shoulder while I've vacuumed, and even when I'm doing my own things and shes out of her cage, she will either sit somewhere where she can see me, or she will fly over occasionally and check on me. And she does sit on my hands sometimes, like without the shirt, but its very rare when she does, I make sure to try to get a photo each time. She has made a big impact on my life, and I'm glad that I have her. She really is amazing. One of my favorite things that she does, is when i'm filling her food bowl she will go and sit on the metal piece that holds her bowl, and she will just sit there and watch me.

I picked that photo for the photo of the month contest because I feel like it shows our bond, and also shows her personality at the same time. And honestly that photo is one of my favorites. I'll attach a few more of my favorite photos of her, and maybe a few videos. (I had to screen record the videos or it wouldn't let me put them for some reason) Also I'm sorry this was so long

Her perches look good. You just want to be sure to use natural wood perches of varying sizes to keep her feet healthy and prevent bumblefoot. If birds have only wooden dowels to perch on, they can develop sores on the bottom of their feet from repeated pressure in the same spot. Keep an eye on her foot to make sure nothing changes.

Rocky's mother Lilibet had a medical problem laying eggs and couldn't take care of them so I put her three eggs in an incubator. Rocky was the only one that hatched and I had to hand feed her from day one. I had never done it before but she grew quickly and by 8 weeks she was weaned and flying. Even though we handled her a lot as a baby she decided she didn't like hands and won't get on fingers. Like Pilot, she perches on every other body part, but not hands. Since then, we have hand raised a male named Tiki and another female, Joey (a contestants in this months POTM). All three are terrific budgies. Joey loves perching on hands and giving kisses. Tiki is a good little boy and was eager to join the rest of my flock and is best friends with Corona, aka Big Fluffy, a gorgeous English show budgie almost twice his size.

I was told that the ones I had were natural wood, and I'll keep looking at her foot (if she will let me)

I love the names that your budgies have, Pilot gives kisses too, but sometimes she gets annoyed and turns into a dinosaur basically and will try to bite me for basically no reason.
And I think its funny that Tiki became friends with a budgie twice his size

Yes, they are. They look good.
