My guess is that most people owned by and who care about parrots have a certain respect for all wildlife. Someone posted a link to me on my facebook profile, it was a link to a video of sharks being finned on a fishing boat, I won't post it on here as it upset me. I could see the pain in the shark's eyes and it was horrible to watch - imagine for one moment having an amputation with no anethetic and you get the idea. Many people don't realise that sharks are becoming dangerously low in numbers. These creatures have been with us since prehistoric times.


The cruellest of all creatures is man who kills not only to eat but in many cases for pleasure, it's a cruel world and sometimes I'm ashamed to be part of the human race.

How horrible! People look at fish as having no feelings. Every living creature feels pain.
My brother worked on a fishing boat, out at sea in Belize for months at a time. I discussed this with him. He was very angy! He said that always fish were put out of thier misery before any type of preparation was done. Now this was many years ago when he was about 20 yrs old. He wonders if this practice is new for some reason or just plan laziness and cruel. Thanks for sharing.

To think these people call themselves human beings.
These are innocent creatures who cannot fend for themselves.

That disgusts me, to put a creature through such pain and agony. They should be ashamed of themselves. No creature deserves to be treated in such a way.

I understand that people need to eat, but this is just wrong. It's torture!

There has been a rash of animal cruilty in my city. My remedy for these people and others who de fin the sharks while living is to do the same thing to them. True people do not have fins but I am sure arms would do.

The things that go on in the world are unbelievable. I got right into animal welfare when I was at the vet hosp and honestly it became overwhelming, I got really depressed by the things I became aware of and now I am so fussy about what I buy because of the history behind the product.

Humans are evil creatures, you just have to read the news and see what some people do to thier own children let alone animals.

I've often considered starting a forum and only allow people who have the same political/social/etc. views that I do. This would definitely have a fired-up thread.

I just think KHARMA... I can't help smiling when I hear of a Matador being gorged by the bull he's torturing to death or a circus trainer being trampled by the poor Elephant who's been kept alone in small stalls and made to perform tricks for our entertainment. Please if you start a venting forum let me know!!!!!

Thanks everyone for caring. I posted this on another site and it recieved very little response. It's nice to know there are people out thare who care.

Unfortunately this is just one case of animal cruelty going on in the world today. The annual baby seal cull being another good example but there are many, many more, a large % of animal cruelty goes on in the middle east where they still eat things for religious reasons or because it is said to contain special properties and some goes on even in the EEC!!! I'm sure many of you know all this and I'm actually preaching to the converted.
