I want to thank all of you for your support and prayers.
Plumas passed away today at the vet's office.
The vet saw him for about 3/4 minutes discussing possible things that could be done when he took his last breath.

I am so sorry! Much love and prayers to you because I know your heart is very sad. He was a lucky bird to live a very happy life with you, and while it's so sad he passed away, at least it was with someone who cared so much about him. <3

My heart is breaking for you, I am so very sorry for your loss. Plumas had a long and wonderful life with you, and I know how much you and Pacho are going to miss him. You are in my thoughts.

Oh, sweet Plumas...how is Pacho dealing with the loss of such a good friend?

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. You and the rest of your flock are in my thoughts and prayers, tonight.

And thank you for sharing that video of Plumas and his valiant defense of Pacho. I know he will be dearly missed, but the happy memories of him and how he enriched your life will far outlast the grief you are feeling, now.

My deepest condolences for your loss of Plumas. He will have a special place in your heart as the first parrot. Thank you for sharing the video that represents why we love amazons so dearly!

So very, very sorry for the loss of Plumas, may he forever fly free.

May he live on and long in your heart. So sorry for the pain, sending hugs.

Oh, sweet Plumas...how is Pacho dealing with the loss of such a good friend?

We were holding Plumas wrapped loosely in a towel after he collapsed on the floor of the cage.
Both amazons (Pacho and Bingo) were closely watching him. In fact they never took there eyes off of him, I am sure they knew he was near the end.
We stayed that way for about 1 1/2 hours till we could go to the vets office.
I could not bring him back and put him in a hole in the ground. Going to have him cremated so Pacho was not able to "view" his body but I think he knows.
I will be giving the cage a through cleaning this morning sometime before I put Pacho back in.
Giving Pacho extra attention. She is friendly with me so I can hold her and we can take comfort in each other.

We grieve with you. The death of a beloved parrot is an extraordinary loss. Their tiny little bodies house huge souls, and when they go they leave huge holes. You gave Plumas many wonderful and joyful years of life and made an enormous difference in his world. May the memories of joy remain when the ache of loss recedes.

I am so very sorry to hear of Plumas' passing. My deepest condolences to you. I know this is an extremely difficult time right now. I'm glad that you and Pacho are able to spend time and comfort one another.

There are no words to make it easier so just sending hugs x

Wes..

So so sooooo sorry to read this :02: My deepest and most sincere condolences to you, your family, and flock.

It is NEVER easy. Even after 1.5 years of Smokes passing it still hurts. I too couldn't see putting her in the ground,so she was creamated also. She sits in a pewter urn on my mantel where I can say "good morning" to her every day.

Maybe Plumas and Smokey, and all the other wonderful members fids, who passed on,are flying together, along Rainbow Bridge, looking down on us,telling us "it's ok,we feel great! don't cry!!"
