How many parrot owners here are outdoor smokers ? I am NOT judging anyone, I am just curious as it is a die hard rule of adoption from the rescue I visited recently. I realize alot of people probably lie on this question in the application.

1) Yes

2) No

Yes I'm proud to say I'm a outdoor smoker! :)
Anything for my babies!!!!!

I ask because this rescue does not adopt to outdoor or indoor smokers.

I'm an outdoor smoker, too. I gave it up for quite some time, but once I became a Mod, I started up again. (<--joke)

I will run for cover now. :54:

im surprised they wont adopt out t outdoor smokers I dont smoke but I know many people who do and when they come over they CANNOT smoke in the house I wont even let them smoke outside near the birdroom Im a freak about it. I guess I can see why they wont let them though since smoke clings to the clothes and you can still smell it on someone after they have smoked.

I think I would lie on that application....lol

I never smoke inside nor around my pets!!!!! And we always wash our hands! :)

Same here....and I can honestly say, nothing smells of smoke around here, neither my clothes nor my hair. I'm sure my breath does right afterwards, but I try and abstain from French kissing the fids anyway. :09:

Well I told the truth on my application and was informed the rescue has never adopted a bird out to the home of anyone who smoked. They did say with my experience, and how well trained and behaved Ruby was that the board will vote as to if I can adopt the boy I am in love with. I also always wash my hands after smoking outdoors, and smoke far from the house and I dont smoke in our vehicles. Plus I only smoke a pack every 3 days. Maybe honesty will prevail and I will be the exception to their rule.

I truly hope they come through for you. :) Fingers and toes will be crossed. Surely they will realize what a GREAT home you can provide.

....ok, now I'm curious. Who fell in love with you? :D...and vice versa...

Might be a few exsmokers on their panel, LOL. Hope it works out for you.

oh i really hope they will let you adopt him!!!! So who is the lucky guy ;)

Occasionally, but never cigarettes! :P and that's at night outside

Wendy, I believe we fell in love with each other. He gave me kisses the whole time I was at the rescue. His name is Rhett and he is a 26 year old male Ekkie. He has excellent extensive vet records as he only had one owner before going to the rescue 3 years ago. Thanks for the hopeful wishes everyone. They did drive 95 miles to do the home visit today, knowing I was a smoker already, so I am hopeful still.

Wow...they drove 95 miles?..your hopeful!!!! You'll get him!!! :)

You know in all out honesty I'm proud of you being honest on your application. Honestly I would of done the same....I'm a straight forward type of person as I've got nothing to hide. So go you!!!!! ;)

I am a smoker but I do smoke outside. I try to be cautious as possible. I would never smoke in the house

I don't smoke but I voted kinda for my dad( who lives with me, and hence with cooper). he w=has always smoked outside, my mom makes him as she hates the smell of it! :D so cooper is all safe from the smoke :)
