We have popcorn night every once in a while. It's air popped popcorn, no salt or oil and is a treat for the pups and birds. Tonight is popcorn night and I served it up. Buddy was purring like a cat, Venus looked but went back to her fake eggs. I took some to Buzz, he looked at it, I handed him a piece, no growling!!!! He started munching away so I gave him a few more pieces and two almonds still in their shell.

I'm still working so I've been sitting with him and visiting him between writing code and waiting for processes. He is quite soothing to have around when working. Buddy wants to talk all the time and Venus, well Venus is on my desk, on my keyboard, trying to pick my keys off, pull at me pens, pencils, markers, capper clips, it's all her stuff, lol.

Sounds like popcorn is a hit! Birds, dogs, humans :). If you want some popcorn variety for the birds, mine love the Nutriberries brand popcorn. It is popcorn with a sweet sort of glaze with seeds stuck to it. It smells absolutely heavenly, like caramel corn. But I haven't been able to bring myself to try it... Yet.

Popcorn is to CAGs what catnip is to cats!

Well apparently popcorn earned me some brownie points but Husband got more points. He took Buzz into the living room, other side of the room, and Buzz started whistling, wolf whistles, other whistles and HE CAME OUT OF THE CAGE! He's back in the office, out of his cage, he's been stretching his wings, lots of preening and he is checking everything out!! Right now I have Einstein YouTube videos playing for him.

I will be getting some of the Nutriberries brand popcorn for sure.

And here's a pic, I think we have crossed into new territory.

It's exciting when you see a new bird do things for the first time :).

Really? I would have to say, I have sampled everything I have given to my JoJo, even the live creepies! (A challenge from the kids)
Except for the challenge, all was fairly good!

I must be a really bad Mom I never have popcorn...my guys have never tasted popcorn...in fact I dont remember having tasted it myself since I was a kid and that sort of guey popcorn certainly was not parrot friendly and not very healthy for us kids at the time I imagine too :) I will have to remedy my ways and throw a popcorn party for the fids some day this week :)

Awesome will try that

Never a bad Mom. Husband got this started with our bully and pugs. It is funny listening to Buddy go goofy when he smells it or we say"POPCORN!", lol. The result is watching them enjoy and have fun.

Popcorn is a favorite treat for both parrots here. Ralph the QP likes it so much he learned to say "popcorn." :)

Not to be rude or play the expert, but I think I have that same cage, I only use it as a travel cage or a play stand . Is that Buzz permanent cage bc IMO it's way to small for a cag. If so maybe that's part of the reason he's been off to a slow start.

But I am excited, his cage arrived last night! I have been frustrated for two days because it was to be here by Tuesday but was late. Husband is off today, I'm not but I work from home and I'm hoping to have quiet time to put it together and wash it down. I'll have pics later and I'm hoping Buzz will like it and accept it but if he doesn't we'll be patient. Also he has a small play area outside the travel cage and he's been out since last night expect for bed. To be continued...

And construction begins but first I'm washing the pieces. The box had oil spots. Also going to the store later to get some real perches. This cage came with dowel perches.

Construction done. The cage looks good and I have it set up so Buzz can just walk in it. Just finished buying new perches. I have the dowel perch in there now but as soon as I get home will put in his new perch and all the things I bought him. I found the popcorn Nutriberries too!

Here's the finished cage, washed and inspected for imperfections sharp edges etc. it's all good!
