"Pickles" (15 year old Yellow Crowned Amazon)
"Pretty Boy" aka "Prid" (15+ year old Cockatiel)
Hello everyone!

My daughter and I share our lives, hearts, and home
with "Prid" (nickname for Pretty Boy), a 13 year old male cockatiel;
"Pickles" a 12 year old male yellow crowned amazon; and "Waffles" a 2
year old male tabby cat. :)
They are each a joy!

I have had Prid for 10 years and it took quite some time to heal him.
He was a rescue. His former "owner" had abandoned him and both of his
feet were broken. He was terrified of me (understandably) but now he
is so very sweet. I would hate to go back to those days of bloody
fingers and a trembling, fearful little guy.

"Pickles" is a new addition to the family. He is still adjusting to
his rehoming, but I am in love with him already. He seems to tolerate
the other members, but has taken quite a liking to me. With every new
day, he teaches me more and more and lets me understand his needs and
fears. I don't know much about his history, only that the home he
came from he had lived with for a year and they gave him up because
they did not have the time to spend with him. He is still somewhat
distrustful of me, but we are working on becoming fast friends. He
greets me in the morning now by saying "HELLLLLLOOOOO? What are you
doing?" and when I leave home I always tell him "goodbye, Pickles, I
will be home soon". Last night when I left when I opened the door he
said, "Goodbye! Bye-Bye!" :)

"Waffles", aka 'the cat who thinks he is a dog' was another rescue.
He and his siblings were strays living under an abandoned shed. The
mother was feral and either abandoned them or was killed. The poor
babies were starving. When I took him home, I had to feed him milk
replacement with an eyedropper. He was so tiny he could fit in my
hand. Now he is a healthy silly ball of fur. He plays fetch, climbs
up and down ladders, and sleeps flat on his back. Hilarious!

Here are a few pictures!

Aww, very cute, and ironically, I also had a cat named waffles, and so does a member of another forum I am on lol. Here's my waffles sleeping with zephyr, the iguana...
