Hi all~I wrote about Miss Scarlett's broodiness and the problems we're having with her. Being new to having an Eclectus I need some more advice please.
Has anyone had problems with a female Ekkie getting more broody from the sleep cage? I could be wrong but it seems that since we've started putting her in a sleep cage (24X24) in a separate room she's gotten worse. We leave it uncovered, have some toys in there and she gets 10 to 11 hours of sleep. Sometimes she seems as if her hormones are going down and she acts sweeter then the next day she'll be insane again.
How long do these hormonal periods usually last? As I said in my other thread we've moved everything around in her cage, shortened her daylight hours, don't let her go in any dark spaces, etc.
I just want to make sure that we're doing everything right.
