Another way of creating a non slip surface is to gently etch on the branches, with either sand paper, or a dremel bit. You can just do subtle lines, and it's supposed to be barely visible.

Yeah, I was going to do the dremel thing, but my dremel is a $5 garage sale special and it's cordless. The fully charged battery lasts about 12 seconds IF I don't touch the bit to anything! :31:

Funny! I have two, and my one actually died while I was I the middle of doing my dogs nails! So lucky I had another one... But I don't like that one, so I guess I need a new one, too.

I love the video!! Funniest part is that us humans think we're training and working with the bird... while they are thinking, hah, watch me get the featherless dude to run around and bring my toy back to me

For the climbing you can try wrapping a burlap type fabric strip around (kinda like wrapping Xmas lights) and then tying off leaving a dangle end for chewing. We also use the tug of war rope toys for dogs between point A and point B for climbing, and the birds like trying to pull it apart as well (obviously watch for loose threads, but think that goes without saying!).

Simba is beautiful and while the vet wrap scared him, it was good to hear he ran to you for protection!

i bought a big bag of stainless steel eye hooks for toys, and if you can hang things so that they have to climb down to reach they want to play with they'll quickly learn to use the whole thing.

so the eye hooks need to be stainless? I looked at lowes last night and all they had were zinc.

zinc is toxic if they chew on it!!!

Macaws will chew on it.

I had read that somewhere on here. That was why I was looking for stainless at Lowes. Wasn't sure if they'd chew on it or not, so I'm glad I asked.
