Merlin was starting to show signs of hormones so I had to get busy.

Have made a 2 piece nest box out Of cardboard boxes.
Bout 80% complete. Waiting to see if they are willing to use it.
Bottom section is double walled corigated extra strong..
Vert. Section is not very thick but I can replace if needed.

Has been together for 24 hours as of this morning and so far
no explorattion.

Bingo is also acting up.
He keeps climbing down to the floor and I can’t allow that.

Julio had a spell early last month and had been without an additional spell since that one! We are about two weeks from the normal start of his 'season'.

Last year there was definite mating behavior between Merlin/Luna.
they may be too young but I wanted to give them a place to go.
Heck they may be a same sex couple as I have not done DNA testing.
I am not ready yet. Need to buy baby bird formula to say the least.

Right now it’s just to see if they will use it.
If it causes aggressive behavior it goes down in two seconds.

Was in the bedroom and heard box noises. He did not go in but he was checking out the entrance.

Yesterday (2nd day) Merlin spent a little more time at the box.
Looks like he is trying to make the opening bigger.
Luna was right behind him Supervising?
Personally I think she was guarding his back.
Luna is becoming a little more defensive over the cage area that has access to the box.
I tried to take photos but the birds are somewhat self-conscious and stop their activity when they notice someone is paying attention to them.

they tore a hole in the box all the way to the edge.
Then they opened up the side of the box just enough to squeeze through and escape.
I think it was Luna that completed the hole and then Merlin pushed Luna out of the way and made his escape.

I took the whole thing down and have an idea for ver 2.0

Maybe it's time to put your skills to work Wes and make a wooden box? Then again,we all know how Amazon's like to buzz saw thru stuff Amazon's have more fun yanno!

Yes 2.0 is going to be a hybrid.
part wood.
the thing is I have put cardboard boxes inside the cage and that just doesn’t work. They are more afraid of it than anything else.

now I know having it outside the cage is acceptable to them.
