- i am the mom of three parrots:
Dorothy- African grey (cag)
Bowie- blue and gold macaw
Nellie- hyacinth macaw
Reggie- hyacinth macaw
Marnie- white bellied caique
I have a concern. I have a young pair of green cheeks ( male yellow side, female pineapple). I have them set up for future breeding. They are VERY bonded. Literally inseparable. I have noticed that lately the female looks like she is plucking feathers from the area that would be a " brood patch". They are very young and no where near breeding age. Has anyone ever experienced this? I don't know why she would pluck this young. They have a nice big cage, toys , good food. I'm rather concerned.
