Are you sure it's not a dog or puppy? Something heard from outside or TV? I enjoy trying to figure out and identify sounds.

Could be. A number of the breeders at the bird fair were selling puppies.
Well, they had puppies with them. I assume they were selling them.
The guy I bought Cheddar from didn’t have any at the show but maybe he just didn’t have any to sell at the moment.

He also makes a trilling sound. Not quite right for a pigeon but close to it. I think Merlin maybe starting to imitate Some of Cheddars noises.

The wonder of mimicking can be amusing, interesting and embarrassing. I thought my CAG was doing a weird growling. She was combining it with other sounds. Then I realized it wasn't a growl. The sound of paper tearing off a roll. I didn't realize that had such a variety. Successful tears, partial start and restarts. She combines this with other sounds so it was difficult to identify. Whistles, chirps and actual dog yaps. A sound or word need only be heard once!
