Quick Question about Phonebook as Shredding Toy

Hi Everyone,

I've heard that parronts often offer their fids an old phone book as a shreddable toy. Sounds fun.

Wondering if the ink on the phone book pages would be toxic. The ink rubs off on my fingers so I know Baxter would be ingesting a bit when he is shredding.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but I was told the dye used is a vegetable based dye. We always gave them to our rabbits to shred.

Never have I ever had any issues with using phone books. And yeah...if I keep my fingers on some pages long enough I sport some ink, too.

Newspapers and phone books should all be using soy based ink and non toxic glues. They made that switch for environmental/recycling purposes.

I rip out any glossy pages that might be there, cause I'm not so sure about them.
