I really enjoyed creating this painting. It is huge 30x30 so bigger than life size. This was commissioned by a person who has already purchased my work in the past. I am excited by how happy she is over it. Always good to hear.

Laura, you ought to tell everyone how many colors you used for this....

Just 2... Burnt Umber and White. (The trick is about 7 to 8 values of those colors with white being the lightest highlights and pure dark's being straight burnt umber.)

Yes, after many years as a social worker my husband kindly encouraged me to paint full time so now that is what I do and I truly love it! It's not always a steady source of income but thankfully neither my husband or I are "keep up with the Jones" sort of people so we get by just fine. I feel blessed everyday to be able to do something I enjoy this much. Don't get me wrong I loved social work but the job related stress was sometimes overwhelming!
