Right now Salty is.....

I just saw this on Apollo the African Grey’s instagram account, & thought of Salty. They put pistachios/treats in with the balls of a Kerplunk game, & Apollo pulls out the sticks.

I lOVE it! Just ordered one of these for him.

I look forward to seeing how he does with it! 😊

I just ordered one. It will be interesting to see how Nameliss will react.

I received mine a few minutes ago. FYI; thin bamboo skewers for hor d'oeuvre will fit easily. I did this first thing in case of replacement need. They are longer about half again longer than original plastic skewers. A pair of scissors will fix that easily.

Did you try the trick with Nameless? How did he do? I had a gig yesterday afternoon, and got home late, so I had no time to introduce this trick to Salty.

It's hysterical. I'm letting her case it out. First the feather fluffing of attack bird. Then knocking it over. Then the it's not gonna bite but do I want to touch. She's pulling random sticks out. Then stares at it. She's figuring it out. I currently have zero treats. So her response is very good. I can't wait to get her some pistachios.

Content here. The plastic sticks slide out almost too easy. The bamboo skewers may be a better option. I want it easy-to-use but not brain dead simple. Pics maybe a problem because Nameliss is photo-phobic like a great many pets. Showing a skewer.

New chop day. ingredients:

Big double handful habanero peppers
" " " red Chilles
" " " jalapeno peppers
1 bag matchstick carrot
1 bag brussel sprots
1 ear corn
1 bundle parsley
1 red pepper
1 radicchio
1 bag broccoli
1 bag spinach

Not a large batch this time - 14 quart bags 1/2 filled up

I thought radicchio was primary ingredient of chicory coffee. Doesn't it have similar effects like coffee from coffee bean? I looked this up. A primary character in a novel and sequels drank the chicory coffee. I was looking for a source of caffeine to jump start my brain.

Nameliss is learning to pull stucks out of Kerplunk to get unsalted in shell roasted pistachios. She seems uncertain about chewing on sticks or the pistachios. Letting her move at her own pace. She's not scared or intimidated by the Kerplunk. I've been positioning the sticks first so removing a couple of sticks drops a nut. First few times she jump/flapped straight up. Nameliss gets bored after 20 minutes. (About 3 nuts) Then she ignores it and looks for mischief.
