Robin flying into window

Does anyone know how to make this stop? He’s a wild robin. We have had 2-3 of them randomly flying into our glass windows repeatedly. Especially in the morning from 8-noon. I’ve never had this happen before.

He’s camps out on my deck post and for 4 hours straight just flys into my window

He’s fighting his reflection because he thinks it’s another male! I’ve never seen a Robin do this but my aunt has woodpeckers and cardinals sometimes attack the sliding glass door by the bird feeder.

Anything to disrupt the reflection can help. A lot of people use window clings. I’m cheap so I just tape pieces of paper to windows to stop birds from crashing into them lol! This behavior should cease once nesting season begins.

Masking tape, at irregular intervals, those peel and stick flower decals for fridge and showers work too. It will also decrease accidentally window hits. There's a mini business on all kinds of things for this. But I'm kinda cheap. I use colored masking tape in designs when I had that problem from sun reflection causing fly hits..

Tape a piece of cardboard or plastic bag on the outside of the glass for a couple weeks.

Make sure you tape paper etc to the outside not the inside.

Just wondering why it should be taped to the outside? I tape the paper on the inside so it doesn’t get ruined by rain or blow away in the wind.

If you tape it to the inside the glass outside where the bird is will still reflect his image. Use a piece of a white plastic trash bag.

The outside of the window is more effective by 20-25%. I don't have an attack robin. Mine is flying accidentally hits. So inside is fine in my case. In my case my excellent mimicking CAG has offended someone. I haven't heard from the red tail hawks or owls yet this spring. They dive bomb the house, not the windows.

Never had the issue with robins, but years ago we had a cat that loved to soak up the sun laying on the window sill in the living room. Apparently bald eagles may be attracted to a perceived easy meal kitty... Yup, slammed right into the picture window. It shook the whole house and I have no idea how it didn't smash the window. The eagle was stunned and laid on the ground for about 15 minutes or so. We thought it was really injured and were about to call animal control or a nearby rescue/rehab, but he came around and flew off, thank goodness!

A big red tailed hawk slammed into the glass at a house we were renting many years ago. Poor guy was sitting on the ground outside the window dazed for a while before he flew up into a tree. I normally go out and try to care for birds stunned but not killed by window strikes but I wasn't about to go out and try to handle a huge hawk. I would have called someone.
A little Junco hit the patio sliding door several years ago during a snowstorm. He landed head first into a deep snowdrift with his tail sticking out. I pulled him out, brought him inside, warmed him up and put him in a paper bag. About 20 minutes later he woke up and started flapping around in the bag so I let him go. This has happened several times since then. Unless the break their neck and die instantly they seem to recover.

Then I am lucky. The red tail hawks can't get up steam for the patio windows due to fencing, patio overhang and trees. Its still scary. The owls are worse because they are silent.
