:greenyellow::whiteblue:I have read on google that male budgies have blue nostrils, And the owner sold me both male and female but both have pink nostrils, Marie is no doubt the female, but I am not sure on Jerry, Jerry does kiss Marie alot and is energetic and feeds Marie. Are all males blue nostrilled or just some/majority? Any feedback please.

It depends on their age for one. Coloring for another. Males feeds the females during courting, BUT if there's no females present, they try to feed other males too.

As youngsters all their cere coloring looks the same, but you can sex them by the shape of their nostrils. It's been so long since I bred them, one is oval while the other one is more round. As the males mature they turn deep blue while the female either stays pink or light blue. When the females are ready to mate, their cere turns crusty brown. Depending on their coloring, the males can have pink cere because of their mutation. The cere coloring is more for solid color mutations like green, blue, gray, etc. If you get into pieds and such, the cere is most likely pink. You can also sex them by the way they act, I can anyway since I bred so many of them before.

Hmmm, ty for insight. I took a look at the ceres and Maries is round, while Jerry the suspected male is oval horizantaly, also in this shading of my bedroom Jerry's cere is very blue while in the kitchen ights it's pink. Very expeienced you must be then, wouldn't want advice from any other. I can see their behaviour and they are very contrast, thus if they were same gender they would be similar. And from what you told me I can also infer that these budgies are young(rough estimate) by the colour of ceres.

From what iv read and experienced is males mature to blue. Hens mature to white. Brown and crusty when ready to mate.

Here's a useful link. About Budgies

Okay, here's a guide.
I've used it to sex heaps of times, never been wrong before while using it.

Male -

Adult: Fully deep blue or pink in certain mutations.
Juv: Fully smooth pink.

Female -

Adult: Crusty brown in breeding condition, pale white-blue out.
Juv: Pale blue-white.

No budgie is too young to sex if you know what you are talking about. I know breeders who can sex at 3 days.

Ummm... pics.

The pictures provided were really helpful thnx m8(= Jerry looks like the Juvenile male. Jerry is also very skinny, while Marie has round figure is this common amoungst differ genders of same species?

Oh I delt with mutations. Specifically dilutes, clearwings, Dom pieds, very clear ressevies
As well lacewings. Nothing as special that it had a diffrent colored cere. But have seen the pinkish Ceres before. I'm more of a tiel guy when breeding for mutation.
Sorry if my info was bad. Just trying to help is all
