Share a quick picture

I have wanted to share this photo for a while.
according to the date on the file it was taken in 2017.
It was taken at my work in El Segundo California.
It was kind of against the rules so don't tell anybody.

Anyway it's my understanding these birds don't belong in Southern California. That's what caused me to through caution to the wind and snap the photo.

Eastern Bluebirds? According to Wikipedia, no, they don't live in California. They are common here in the Southeast US.

I saw them on several occasions in the same area.
The fence they are sitting on joins one of the entrances (man traps/ turnstiles) to the place and they were building a nest in the roof of the structure.

I never could figure out how they got there.
Pretty little birds, I hope they had lots of babies.

It's hard to tell from the photo but I think those are a pair of Western Bluebirds which are native to So Cal. The male Western has a blue throat and the Eastern has a rusty colored throat. The male in your picture appears to have a blue throat
The female looks like a Western Bluebird too because of the light grey wash all over her head.

Today I dozed off for a few minutes lying on the bed reading my phone. Joey and Cora were out and when I woke up Cora was sitting quietly on the windowsill perch but I couldn't find Joey! She's normally all over me or at least easy to spot. She is very much an explorer so she could have been anywhere! This is where I found the little rascal- clinging inside a fold in the drapes, the tip if her tail poking just poking out!
