Not quite sure what the NYC commute is, but I do take public transport if that’s what you mean. I actually enjoy it.

I just know that my sister lived in Summit NJ for many years and worked on Wall Street. She would take a train then a ferry then a bus then walk a couple blocks just to get to work and back every day. It took about an hour and a half each way. Then she spent 9 or 10 hours in the office.

That does sound brutal. I know some people who take ferries to school and it wastes so much time. My commute takes about an hour, but I find it pretty relaxing.
