Not quite sure what the NYC commute is, but I do take public transport if that’s what you mean. I actually enjoy it.
I just know that my sister lived in Summit NJ for many years and worked on Wall Street. She would take a train then a ferry then a bus then walk a couple blocks just to get to work and back every day. It took about an hour and a half each way. Then she spent 9 or 10 hours in the office.

That does sound brutal. I know some people who take ferries to school and it wastes so much time. My commute takes about an hour, but I find it pretty relaxing.

Sunset on the farm in Oregon.
The barn dates back to the late 30’s or early 40’s.
Listed as a milk barn on the ….property drawings.
My grandparents used it for horses long time ago.
So many wild birds up here.
Robins, woodpeckers, blue jays.
Little birds that defy gravity and run up/down tree trunks.
And turkey vultures. They don’t roost here but love to soar along the ridge of our hill and catch the thermals.
