I know I've said it before, Richard, but I'll say it again. I'm sorry that I cracked up lauging when you ever so gallantly and calmly said to Nitro: "You want any blood?"

And I saw absolutely NO signs that Nitro was getting agita either. Just THAT quickly ....and there went a piece of your finger. :11: Your pain resistance must be WAYYYYY up there.

Wow Richard.... :11::52: I agree, you didn't even flinch... I'd be crying like a baby....
And not because of the pain, but the blood.... When I sliced my hand with a knife once while cutting a watermelon , I fainted and fell out of my seat. These too bites ate making me queasy!

Jasper used to bite me alot while I was visiting. It doesn't happen very much at all anymore and I think this was the last time (so far).

LOL, guess i've suffered though a few. Not that big of a deal anymore. But it does hurt, don't care what it looks like, I'm no superman.

ouch to you all. ive been around parrots for many years. my last alex got me once on the ear abd almost peirced it, last time she was allowed on the shoulder. the funniest thing is the only scars i have from bird bites are from a budgie.

The pictures give me shivers....lol.....I hate the sight of blood.....I've never taken pictures of my bite marks cause I really don't want to look at it. My left thumb is still recovering from Java's bite about 6 months ago. He bit me on the cuticle so it takes awhile to grow out so it's almost fully grown out, as the damaged nail got to the edge, it just shattered and split open cause it was already damaged pretty good. I had to apply stuffs on it to keep it down and not get caught in my clothing so it wouldn't rip into my thumb.

So with this being said, any bird can be unpredictable and that's why we give the words of wisdom to the newer owners coming onto this site. Always take caution!

Exactly ! Some people don't know that a budgie can't bite hard enough to pierce skin but sprite protested in that. When I feed them when they where on my arm and I run out of food, the way they fulfill they're hunger is chewing on skin , last week they were tearing skin off of me so hard I thought of taking a picture and posting its here. Never underestimate a budgie !

when i first got cooper and was visiting him at the store before he was fulyl weaned he got me good. there was a decent amount of blood. i had him steping up on my finer. then put him down for a sec. when i put my finger back to get him he put one food on the beak into finger. now all he does it "beak" my hand non-stop. no real biting as of now. thank god. they can hurt even from such a small bird!
