A cockatiel, a bourke, and three budgies
A few days ago I brought my cockatiels outside for the first time this year. This was Skittles' first time outside, and her first time wearing a harness. She didn't pick at her harness, unlike the others. I think she enjoyed her first outside trip. I know Elvis did.

I don’t see any harnesses on the birds. Which harness do you use and how did you train your birds to wear it?

Skittles was wearing the training harness I made for Elvis. Elvis was wearing a harness I got from a friend back in the fall, it's not the aviator harness, I know that much about it. I plan on getting the aviator harness for both of them soon.
I trained both of them differently. I didn't train Elvis to wear it, he just associated it with going outside after the first time. Skittles was introduced to it slowly, the first time she had it on completely, I brought her outside. Now it's time to get a good quality harness.

When I was trying to harness train Ducky, I gave up because she freaked out and I didn’t want to damage our bond. Kermit also hated it, and the harness I had for Ducky was too big for him anyway. I didn’t bother getting Kermit a harness if he wasn’t going to use it.

When I had my Jenday 15 years ago I got a harness for him but he never once took to it, he hated that thing. Real sunshine is great for our birds!
