Well, 'tis the season for bringing the plants in for the winter. I always keep ending up with more from people bringing me their "sick" (neglected) plants. So I still have a Snake plant, aka "mother-in-law's tongue" at work that someone brought me and I want to bring it home. And as always, there is conflicting advice in many of the searches I do about this plant.
So, does anyone know, is it safe? Or should I leave it at the shop??

I dunno, but I have a snake plant in my bedroom. My birds usually don't get there, but I don't know if it's safe or poisonous.

Both the Merck's manuals, the ASPCA & the poison control hotline list it/them as mildly poisonous, causing diarrhea & possibly bloody stools...I did a quick look around & a couple of vet sites list both plants as poisonous, but none of the databases go into further detail.....why not call U of M or MSU, both have good agriculture departments & both have vet med schools too ? ? ?

That's good enough for me, I don't want anything even remotely questionable in my house, my birds are basically free-range and it's too much of a risk. Thanks for the info, looks like the plant stays at work.
