1. will the sanctuary inclued a carrier or should i get one my self
2. will they inclued food that the bird eats or not
3. can I "reserve" a bird that i want
I am rescuing a bird from Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary if that helps

You should call your rescue of choice and ask them all of these questions. A really good rescue will be happy to answer. But it never hurts to have a extra travel carrier

I used to live pretty close to Greyhaven - years ago but I love that area :)

For sure they would answer your questions, and you really are better off asking them directly - every rescue works a little differently. Some use a paper box, some require you have a cage, some send a few weeks food, others don't but send you a list of what they're using to feed, etc etc

I HIGHLY recommend volunteering there if you haven't already - it's insane how much I've learned in just a couple months where I volunteer. It also is REALLY obvious which birds pick me and which ones I would have picked at first - and they aren't the same birds! :)
