Can someone post a few pics of their Caique cages? I have read they need at least 24" x 24" floor area, with bar spacing 5/8 or less. Yet most cages I have researched with this bar spacing do not offer 24 x 24. Any suggestions? Dome top better than flat?

Caiques are very active and will need a bigger cage than 24" X 24".
Also you can get a cage with 3/4" bar spacing, that will not allow them to put their head through.

This cage is 32"X23"X63"(better suited for a Caique) and has a 5/8" bar spacing : AE Cage Dome Top 32 x 23 Powder Coated - DOME TOP CAGES by Bird Paradise

Mine is the same but with a 3/4" bar spacing.

When I do replace my Caique's cage, I will get a play top though instead of the dome, because Caiques LOVE to play on their back with foot toys, which they can't do on a dome top.

Was thinking of this for reasons you describe, but bars are 7/8" apart

Between 3/4" and 7/8" there's only 0.125" difference, it is fine. Actually I just checked my grey's cage where the bar spacing is 1" and there's no way a Caique's head go through that either........(I put both Caiques forehead against the bar to see).

i dont have a caiques but usually the "recomended" size is to small. it would go bigger than 24x24. usually the bar spacing reccomendations are a bit small. for quaer most people say 5/8 is very very maxx and usually to big. mine is 3/4 in spacing and there is no chance cooper could get his head through. i might even be able to do 1in with him but i like the 3/4 it makes it easier for small birds to climb when the bars are that little bit closer

If you want a split top cage, please don't go with the cage you showed us. Chances are, the bird is going to spend more time on the high area than the rest of the cage...

Something like the one depicted below would be better (although I don't recommend using the open top feature)
