Here's a picture of Squirrel's cuddle position. When he's being cuddled and scritched, or when he wants to be, he holds his head. Sometimes he get all the way up and holds his head so his foot is covering his eye too. Adorable!

I have no idea, maybe. I've seen him do it in his cage too, when he's putting himself to bed. Maybe it's like sucking his thumb, a comfort action.
