No way is that A&E cage worth $3000 in stainless steel! As I wrote, my stainless steel A&E cage is VASTLY inferior to my Animal Environments SS cage. I tolerate the inferior quality because I paid only $200 for a used cage much larger than the size you are looking at. If you are considering spending thousands, spend a few hundred more and buy a top quality product.

I totally hear you. I don’t know what else to do, honestly. If only they made a stainless cage with 1/2-5/8” bar spacing suitable for my beautiful green cheek conure.

I’ll link you the one I use my black cap. It has larger bar spacing than I’d like but it works well. Haven’t had any issues.

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I actually bought and assembled this and LOVE it, but my conure is a green cheek and small. I would be concerned for the bar spacing and plan to return it. This is looking like my only viable option https://caitec.com/products/featherland-folding-stainless-steel-cage-2

I just wanted to come on and thank everyone for their help! I ended up having to stick with the "All Living Things" Petsmart branded cage because literally no cage would come in time before I left for vacation, and my poor baby spend far too long in a travel carrier. I strive for perfection because I care so much about him, which is why I wanted stainless, but he is so unbelievably happy in this cage (he's known it for years), and our local bird store stated that they have never heard of heavy metal toxicity with Petsmart cages. Again, thank you all for your immense help. This is where we landed for now, but maybe a brand will release an appropriately spaced stainless cage in the future!
