Sun conure behaviour help?

Have read that it could encourage nesting behavior and egg laying in a female which of course you don't want. We got our 3 month old sun a tent bed, not the pouch kind. She figured it out in a day or two and absolutely loves it. Puts herself to bed and spends the night in it. Before that, she wedged herself between the top of the cage and a hanging set of block toys.

Don't encourage the regurgitation.

The "butt rubbing" could be male or female. In smaller species, how they do it could say male or female. In medium and larger species, both genders may show the same behaviors.

Teddy or a bed? Generally speaking, no. Teddy bears can be dangerous if chewed up/eaten. Some beds can also be quite dangerous. Not recommended. Some of them might be ok, as long as your bird doesn't become nesty or aggressive with them. Just need to be careful.

Ok thank you It would be a tent bed from a pet shop, could I just try it for a day or 2 see how they are? If they become aggressive towards me/ others to take it out?

Which tent bed? There are ones they can snuggle in, ones with no bottom and ones with a bottom. Also, many are made out of different materials.

We got the one with a bottom. I don't know the material it's kinda fluffy he has settled nicely to it seems to have helped him , seems more relaxed in evening and peaceful when he goes sleep but will see over next few days how he is with me and others

The standard happy huts are considered to be the most dangerous because birds can, and will, chew it to shreds, causing loose fibers that could get entangled around the bird.

The fleece type are considered safer, since they don't unravel like cotton type huts do.

There are also huts that have been made out of large cardboard tubs, PVC pipes, and even large coffee tins with fabric.

Please use with caution.

Fleece is better than standard! Better choice!
