I am so afraid Desiree is plucking ! This could just be me, because I can be a bit over protective of my birds. But Desiree is missing a lot of feathers on her right leg and I don't see why normally molted feathers would all go at once, because I can see the skin ! If she is plucking how can o stop this, I really don't want her to start this habit, especially because she is cared for exceptionally. Please if anyone has anything I would greatly appreciate it. It is not very noticeable, you can only see it when she fully extends her leg by the way, but still I don't want it to progress into anything worse.

I'm so sorry to hear about your bird! :( Have you ever left home for an extended period of time that she was not comfortable with or not used to? When did this start? Hope she gets better soon!

Do you have any pics? There are members here with a lot of experience with plucking who might be able to give you a definitive answer (or as close as definitive as one might get without being there in person) as to whether your bird is actually plucking or not.

I would suggest pics of the afflicted area, as well as pics of the feathers that have come off... or more specifically, those feathers' shafts.
