Sun Conure
Hello 👋🏻
I have a 5 year old Sun Conure. She has only been with me for 2 months now. She is preening a decent amount lately and Im looking for some reassurance. She has lost a wing feather, multiple down feathers and also feathers on her chest. She doesn't have any bald spots and is taking baths when she has the opportunity. I have plenty of toys to keep her mind busy and shes out ouf her cage for as much as I can. Around 6 hours a day. I'm trying to figure out if she is starting a molt or if she is plucking the feathers herself. I attached a photo of the variety of feathers that I have. There are more feathers though. I also attached a picture of her showing her chest. I appreciate any help. Thanks again!

Hi and welcome. Sun conures are so cool, my favorite conure type.

Iv never owned a conure before but i dont think they are known for plucking their own feathers. Iv never heard of one doing that but i could be wrong. Unless you see your bird plucking then it's probably just molting

Because there's no blood on the feathers and no visible bald spots, I'd say that she's just molting
