Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you, to those who responded (publicly or privately) to my situation and the rehoming of Rio. I appreciated so much your kindness and compassion to my situation. I was feeling so terribly desperate when I reached out, and while I don't know any of your personally, I have grown to respect your opinions when it comes to the care and well being of parrots. I didn't know where else to turn.

The good news is, things have improved and calmed down at home, and I still have Rio which is the best news. She is my baby, I was hoping it would turn out like this, but at the same time I was trying to prepare myself if my situation took a turn for the worst. I want only the best for both my birds. Thank you so much for your kind support.

Kind Regards,

Wendy Lodge

Glad to hear things have improved. Also happy that Rio is still able to be with you. They bring such joy to our lives and help through the darkest of times.

That what I love about this forum. Everyone is like an extended family. Always there for each other.

Oh I am so incredibly happy to hear that you get to keep Rio! I really hope that only good comes your way from here onwards.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I know you didn't want to give him up...

It's nice to know that you can turn somewhere. If I had to place her, I couldn't just give her to anyone. I would never forgive myself and always wonder if she was ok. Atleast on here there is a multitude of experienced parronts. :)

Thx, me too. There are no perfect situations, but atleast for now I am able to cope and don't feel desperate about my home situation. One day at a time.

Thx, I know your so right. Even making the decision, was agonizing. I cried a lot. But I am so glad I reached out here.

I'm so glad things are looking brighter for you and I'm so happy to hear Rio is with you. I wish you the best.

Oh I'm so glad you're keeping Rio : ). I have found most Poi's are so resilient compared to many species. Robin had been through some downright terrible times actually in the past 20 1/2 years that I've had him, and things aren't the best now either but he's no worse for wear thank God. Nice to hear the good news Wendy!

It's only this morning that I saw your thread in the rehoming section. My heart broke for you, Wendy. But I hadn't seen any posts since then and wound up finding this thread... and now I'm overjoyed that you get to keep her! I can only imagine how much of an emotional roller-coaster this has been for you.

I'll go ahead and close that other thread now that it's no longer necessary.

So glad things have gotten better for you and you can keep her!

Keep my information and if you ever feel the need to talk feel free to PM or call.

Thx Anansi, sounds good. Taking things one day at a time. So far so good. :) And Rio is doing great. She was never the problem, but since things have calmed, and I am calmer, she is calmer and not as stressed.
