My Pirate is around 2 yrs old, and Im guessing he is starting his puberty...

I caught him a few times rubbin one off on his Humpy Hut, so I removed it...
That was a few weeks ago...

Now, his new thing is to cuddle on my shirt and then he just goes to town...
It doesnt matter if its my shoulder or arm or chest, if Im standing or sitting, etc...

He does get VERY cuddle and lovey when he is in this mood...

Thoughts?
Good or bad behavior?
How to stop if bad?

Maybe he just really loves me, but I really dont want to get birdy "stuff" on me(or any animal for that matter)... ;)

I should really get a video of it....

Lol, sorry Wendy..
I thought PG13 was ok ;)

I read somewhere that, while it's breeding season, one shouldn't remove "the toy of desire" (the humpy hut you mentioned). Perhaps if you gave it back, he won't want to er...demonstrate his love on you so much?

The only insight I can share from personal experience is - hang in there, it does blow over. Percy was like this for the first two months but he doesn't do it now.

I have a lovebird that used to do that to me when he started i just kinds said thanks but no thanks and stopped him from doing it to me and pet his head only everything else got him too excited. Dont remove the toys hes doing it on he will just find something else it will blow over just give it time.

if he likes to cuddle after what's the problem?

jk lolol

Lmao! Now THAT would be a problem Gary...

Ha!
Actually it makes me feel dirty, like I need to take a long hot shower, trying to get clean again...

Now if Pirate was a GIRL parrot, i might think differently about all this... ;)

As it is, nobody likes an uninvited "plundering" by a hormonal Pirate...

Sometimes I have to keep the troll in me in check..

On a serious note though when Casper does things like this I try to give him a toy and get his attention off of me. It usually works pretty well, and he gets over it quickly.

No worries, before it got edited, my og post was perfectly setup for some quality trollin... ;)

My partners female sulphur too likes to do humpy humpy on my hand if I leave it anywhere acessable hahaha

In all 3 years of owning my bird, all he's ever attempted is regurgitation. Everything is meant to be destroyed with him, not mated with. So weird.
