Every time I visit the aviary
They have cute new playful little fellas and my heart yearnsss but I have plenty in the flock allready

So I'll visit every week to see them until they get adopted

Anyone else do this lol. It's me and my bfs hobby we call it

Visiting friends

Whenever I visit a pet store I always want to bring all the birds home with me. I have to firmly remind myself of my dwindling bank balance and how little space is available in my apartment, not to mention the neighbor I have who thinks one parrot next door is one too many. :giggle:

I usually avoid the birds at pet shops because I will want to "rescue" another Budgie!

I also hate when a kid is tapping/pounding a cage or poking fingers through, and the parent(s) just laughs and acts like this is adorable.

I'm not a fan of shops like PetSmart but the aviaries are wonderful I go to one near me it has a ton of rescues . It's always so nice to see how fast they get adopted

The owners also make sure bonded pairs go together

And the big birds are usually put on big java trees many love the scritches

If you have an aviary always go to those before a shop if possible 😁

I swear I will never ever again go into a bird store. I avoided them for years, and then I dared it...
And bought two little forlorn zebra hens who were crammed into a tiny age on the bottom row of the wall of cages. Then a big cage, swings, perches, toys, food, a bell...
$105 dollars later I had them at home.
AAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHKKKK!!!!!!!!

I would hate for him to end up as snake food or something...
Not craigslist but my cockatiel Mabel was picked on in her cage at the aviary she was feisty and so disheveled . I know that feeling of wanting to save em

So I had to have her

By her I mean I totally misgendered her and her mate Gatsby. But I'm glad I got her they are so happy together 😊

The pet stores don't get me, but every time I run across a bird that needs a home online, I feel it. We need another bird like a hole in the head, but there's a little voice that's like, "we *could* handle it." I only stop myself because it's a one-way ticket to hoarder town.
