we had another fruit massacre this morning. gave the lovebirds a fruit salad as a morning snack and Munch did her second favourite thing with it... made a mess!

this is what they got. half a fig each, half a strawberry each, half a raspberry each, a grape each, a blueberry each, and a small chunk of mango each.

add all of that together and add in a lovebird, and THIS is the result!

she's gonna have some funky feathers for a long while now lol those stains take awhile to wash out

the lovebirds now have sheets on the walls behind their cages because they looove to splatter blackberries all over the wall. they think they're making art, honestly lol

What a good birdie, eating her fruit. That fig looks delicious. I keep trying with Basil but he does not like fruit. And his veggie repertoire is very limited.

Always look like they've slaughtered a man after red fruits!

Merlin's a nightmare with raspberry. He'll fly over to Andrew and he'll panic thinking he's hurt himself rather than me feeding him the 'red stuff' :p

SO cute!!! A little red hair/feather dye may be the new lovebird "do". ;)

Have you tried feeding pomegranate? My fids love it, but the mess they make with that not only to themselves but the walls and floor is unreal. :54:

pomegranate is Mango's absolute favourite fruit! he loves it so much he will eat it upside down lol

i LOVE figs, but they're a rare treat for me and the birds. they're seasonal only here and available only for like 2 months at certain markets and they can be pretty pricey. makes me sad, they're a favourite of mine :(

We buy them by the case when they are in season! And I am very willing to share my figs with Basil but he turns his beak up at everything.

I love your bird she is identical to one I had called Googie and when she died I had a tattoo on the decollage done of her. birds love to make a fruit mess all the fun of eating
