I currently use broken up pieces of almonds, but I'm curious what other use for their eclectus. I have even considered making Tops birdie bread and using bite size pieces of that.

Whatever you bird is willing to work for is usually the best. Nuts are my boy's go to. He LOVES almonds and will do just about anything for them. I use other nuts like pistachios and walnuts too. In shell almonds/pistachios are also pretty good foraging treats for them.

Pieces of dried/fresh fruit are also an option depending on what you have available.

Pine nuts are my boy's favourite. That's the only time he gets them is during training, and my husband has had great success in training him as long as he has a pine nut.
