unsure of what to do - rant/vent

Owlet, I'm sorry you've found yourself in this predicament, I've been in your shoes. I too have mental illnesses that can make it difficult to hold a job unless it is the "right" job so I know how that feels.

As far as filing unemployment, at least in my state, generally I've just filed my claimed and the state does the rest. Meaning they contact your employer for their statement on why you were let go and any other pertinent information.

However, I know that my state at least, has gotten very fond of denying unemployment claims the first time around. Don't give up hope if this is your experience. Appeal the denial and just tell them what happened and especially that they keep harassing you. Most of the people I know that are denied the first time get it overturned if they bother to appeal it. Of course, this could just be a money saving tactic by the good ol broke state of Illinois to save a few bucks by not having to pay the people who don't appeal.

I think filling for SSI and trying to set up a toy business with your dad's help could be a fantastic way to get you through for now. Plus it is something you obviously enjoy. Best of luck to you. If you need to talk, you can PM me.
