Hi All, my boy is very unwell, he is vomiting up food and water. I have been to the avian vet today and she did tests on his poop, she also done a crop flush and tested that.
She said she isn't too sure what's going on as there was no infections but the crop bacteria was higher than she would have liked, so we have gotten antibiotics and antiinflammatories along with a vet care formula to ensure he is getting food down.
I asked if I needed to seperare the formula and giving the meds, she said no, that it was important to get him keepi g some food down. So I got home, made him formula and he was more than happy to eat it, I didn't give too much but I can see his crop is full and he is resting/snuggled up.
I guess my question is, do I give him his antibiotics now or do I wait until later when his crop is down?
I read that you should wait but I also read that they should be given medication before eating, she didn't say any of this to me, and I specifically asked.
Any ideas are welcome here. Thank you.
